Known for its characteristic deep, rich taste, Kokumurasaki is an authentic sweet potato *shochu made using Akemurasaki purple sweet potatoes grown in Kagoshima. The name Akemurasaki is a combination of the terms akatsuki (dawn) and murasaki (purple), to signify the dawning of a new era in purple sweet potatoes. The addition of this rare type of sweet potatoes to the Kogane Sengan sweet potatoes, the main ingredient, gives Kokumurasaki its richness and depth.
